About Our Institute
TENMAK Energy Research Institute was established to support Türkiye’s scientific and technological development in the field of energy and serves as a research center focused on developing innovative solutions from generation to transmission and from distribution to efficiency.
TENMAK ENAREN has been actively cooperating with universities and private-sector organizations and carrying out project works in order to conduct R&D and innovation projects. Through these partnerships, it contributes to the development of energy technologies and the promotion of innovation in its fields of activity.
Committed to innovative, advanced-technology-based R&D in the energy sector, the Institute aims to design domestic and original energy technologies and bring them into the sector, produce competitive and sustainable domestic energy solutions, develop national solutions by reducing external dependence in critical energy technologies, and to train competent researchers in the field of energy.
Our Institute’s Mission
Based on the objective to increase Türkiye’s independence and technological capacity in the field of energy; to carry out scientific research and development activities for the development of domestic products and technologies used in generation, transmission and distribution processes, and to produce sustainable and innovative solutions in energy technologies by promoting public sector–university–industry cooperation.

To be a globally competitive research institute that leads in domestic production and advanced technology development in energy systems, directing national energy policies through its scientific work and delivering sustainable, efficient and reliable energy solutions.
Duties of Our Institute
TENMAK Energy Research Institute performs the following core duties in order to support Türkiye’s scientific and technological development in the field of energy:
Develop Domestic Energy Technologies
To ensure the design and development of domestic and national products and technologies for energy generation, transmission, distribution and storage processes.
Conduct R&D and Innovation Activities
To design and implement strategic research and development projects that will reduce external dependence in energy technologies and to transfer their results to the sector.
Establish Public Sector–University–Industry Cooperation
To develop cooperation with public institutions, universities and private-sector organisations active in energy technologies and facilitate the sharing of knowledge and experience.
Work in Energy Efficiency and Sustainability
To develop solutions for more efficient use of existing energy systems and research new technologies that will support a sustainable energy transition.
Provide Scientific Input to Policy Development Processes
To collect data, carry out analyses and prepare reports in order to contribute to the shaping of national energy policies.
Provide Technical Infrastructure and Laboratory Facilities
To establish and develop testing, measurement, analysis and experimental facilities that enable scientific research on energy technologies.
Conduct Training, Publication and Awareness Activities
To organise seminars, workshops, publications and training programmes to disseminate knowledge relating to energy technologies.
Contribute to International R&D Activities
To take part in international projects in the field of energy technologies, facilitate the exchange of technical knowledge and represent Türkiye.
